Facebook is a great example of convergence of media. You can now post pictures, videos, and games on your Facebook pages. This is on top of messages and posts that you can send to your friends. Facebook has the ability to bring people together. There are also some issues with Facebook. Qin posted an article that describes how it is very difficult to erase your info from your page. When you deactivate your page all your info is still in the Facebook server. Another problem people have with Facebook is the time that is wasted. Are people less productive because they can go onto Facebook during work or school? Some people view it as something they can do when bored while others view it as a distraction. I personally think that people who procrastinate will always do that and although Facebook is one of the ways in which to accomplish that, it is not at fault. Facebook can also be used to the advantage of companies to get information out to the public or to try and gather info on what people are interested in. Another advantage of Facebook is that it gives you the ability to find people that you haven’t seen in a very long time. We asked if it is considered rude to ignore someone who sends you a message on Facebook and if it is changing social rules. I think that although it is rude to ignore someone it is not so much different then ignoring someone in person and therefore is not really changing social guidelines. But it was brought up that while it is very unlikely that you will run into a past friend on the street, it is much easier to find someone on facebook and therefore there is a lot more to ignore.
A youtube video talked about the information we put on Facebook. Not only does Facebook have the right to use the info in anyway they want but they sell it to companies and even give it to the

As Raphael's article argued that Is the FaceBook waste the time or not?In my personal opinion, i think in this situation, it is very personal and people shouldn't use facebook at work place(when you are working) it can cause many negative impacts. Many people use it as entertainment(sometimes, people talk to their friends, listen to the music and watch movies for relax. That is the time you free, that is good for people; therefore, it isn't waste our time.
There isn’t a single friend of mine that doesn’t have a Facebook profile. Giving someone new the URL to your profile upon meeting them has become as common as giving them your phone number. Facebook has become one of the largest social networking sites, practically second to MySpace. This site, however, should come with a “User Beware” notice. Although I personally don’t do it, I know a lot of friends who have posted very personal information about themselves or posted pictures that perhaps were not meant for everyone to see. After finding out that nothing posted on Facebook belongs to the user who generated, and Facebook has the right to use this content at their own will, this becomes rather alarming knowledge.
I agree that Facebook is a good resource but that is only when it is used in moderation. Facebook can cause a lot of damage if you are not careful with the information that you put on it. People, who put pictures of themselves partying and drinking on their pages while in college, might regret putting those pictures up when they are looking for a job. Many employers look at people’s Facebook pages when interviewing people for jobs. Also, Facebook can cause people to be distracted from real life because they get absorbed into the virtual world of this website.
For me facebook is waste of time. there are many more better thing to do than just siting by the computer and buiding muscules on your fingers, by tiping thousands of words to your friends. I would rather go out somewhere with MY FRIENDS that just sit with and chat with them on facebook.
